No, they pay back according to the amount of boats signed up.

When a 5th boat signs up, another check is issued.

For instance, in Titusville they drew 12 boats. First place won 1,000, 2nd place got 600.00, and 3rd place got 300.00.

If they get 50 boats, the first place check will be 5,000 and they should pay back at least 10 places.

The Jacksonville "warm up" tournament that doesn't count for points but only has a 200.00 entry fee is on Sunday January 17th. You can sign up the morning of the tournament at Joe Carlucci ramp - there is no captains meeting.

 5 Trout Tournament 1-9-10
« Result #5 on Dec 18, 2009, 6:21pm »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We will be fishing from Sisters Creek on 1/9/10 for Five Trout. Trout must measure a minimum of 15". As long as you have two anglers on the boat, you may keep two trout over 20".

If you have five trout and one of them is borderline going to measure, you might want to think about just bringing in four fish. You're only going to miss out on about a pound for a trout that small and you don't want to risk losing all your points for the month by being disqualified for a short fish. It is in your best interests to weigh four fish and get those points than try to risk it with that one short fish.

Safe light is 7:10 a.m. Calcutta entries will stop at 7:00.

Even numbered boats will go first in this event. Life Jackets must be on any time your outboard is running.

The staging are is the north end of the Sister's Creek wall and Hecksher Blvd Bridge. Do not leave this area until you hear the horn sound to begin the first flight launch.

You must be back in the staging area by 3:00 or you will be DQ'd.

This tournament is always one of the most fun events of the season. Please be patient at the weigh in and allow the Tournament Personnel time to get everything setup. Everyone has done a great job, we will start about 3:15.

Thanks for everyone's cooperation at weigh ins. They have all gone very smooth and we appreciate it.

HT Redfish Jacksonville Open - 1/17/2010
« Result #7 on Dec 16, 2009, 2:47pm »

Here's a note from tournament director Pat Malone:

The 2010 tournament season will have some innovative parts to the
production and we wanted to let anglers have a sneak peak prior to
signing up for the first event of the season.

The previous open in Titusville was a blast and had many anglers talking
about the procedures, equipment and fun offered by the tour, we were
asked and agreed to offer the same "open" for the anglers of Jacksonville.

The tournament will not count for points as the tournament season
doesn't start until Jan 23rd in Titusville, Fl. So this OPEN event will
be just a fun and informative time for the anglers to test the water and
see for themselves if HT deserves their consideration for the upcoming
tournament season, while competing for up to $5,000.00 for first place.

Sunday, January 17
Joe Carlucci Ramp
*2 angler teams
*1 day event
*2 fish limit
*200.00 entry fee
*5,000.00 1st w/50 boats competing

Call today to reserve your spot 321 217 3515 or sign up that morning at the ramp.

Sounds to me like it is sort of like our Wednesday nighters on a bigger scale. I'm pretty sure HT isn't involved or they would be advertising it.

I spoke with Pat at HT yesterday and he is thinking about doing another "introducing HT" type of 200.00 entry fee tournament up in Jax next month like he did in Titusville. I will update as info becomes available on that.
